Walls that are left bare
Like the smooth of young skin
Encase escaped limbs caught in covers
Under sunlight seeping
Through holes for windows
Rooms rest with hollow hallways
In a castle built for kings
Lie lovers lost in linen
Naked and nicked
On lavish lumber landings
These reunited refugees
Bask with bodies bound.
It’s been too long
Since their worlds stopped stirring.
Through the babble of backs breathing
Clearly a silent sound breaks
A heart concerned,
Did you hear that?
Hush baby,
I’m not running no more.
An UNFINISHED Palace and a Fugitive Leader’s Folly
