Movie Review: Marriage Story (2019)

Release on Netflix December 6th, 2019
Genre: Drama / Rating: R / Length: 2h 17m

You’ve seen Adam Driver in Star Wars, perhaps even in the HBO series, Girls, but have you seen him in Marriage Story? Adam plays Charlie, a theater director and husband to an actress in his company, Nicole. Nicole, performed by talented Scarlett Johansson, is real and relatable. She’s a mother, a fighter, and a dreamer.

Charlie, so consumed with achievements, neglects Nicole’s needs while Nicole, overcome with her infatuation of Charlie fails to communicate the truth of her emotions. The film follows Charlie and Nicole’s journey through divorce, showing not only both sides of the story, but how their son, Henry, is the real victim of it all.

Marriage Story is a beautiful rendition of real life. From the pain of broken promises, Charlie and Nicole illustrate that sometimes love really isn’t enough.

    1. Luckily, it’s on Netflix! It you don’t have it, however, then I supposed it wouldn’t be worth subscribing for just one movie.
