Vodka Vision by Mia Amore Del Bando

I slept with someone who looked like you
Under the sheets
Vodka vision
Swiping your face with his
Plastic toy camera, slide show

Diving into the square fantasy
The reel is blurry
Anything close is good enough.

He had a different laugh
Forgiving dark eyes
Attention directed at my chest
Edge of a cliff, falling in
Charming, genuine smile
His touch warm like tea in the morning
His kiss soft sprinkles of rain

Stitching the night together
Scattered memories darting into the cracks in the wall
His hands snaked up my skirt
I almost said your name
Caught myself at the end of it
Biting his neck instead

Tripped into a dream
Where you wanted me
Fake photograph cartridges
Another man
Resembles the shell of you
I am dedicated to shifting the reels.

Vodka vision
Anything to be close to you.
